Sunderland Match Preview

City’s top scorer with 26 goals Sergio Aguero in this time of year has failed to spot the last five games due to hamstring injury and might come back for Manchester city against Sunderland at Wembley on Sunday in the capital one cup final.

Forward Stevan Jovetic and defender Matija Nastasic are both ruled out of city. For the time being, the Sunderland midfielder Liam bridcutt will be absent as Sunderland will try hard to disturb the probability and defeat Manchester city.

Striker Wickham will not be concerned having joined Leeds on loan for the rest of the period on while the keeper Westwood is the sole man to miss out due to injury.

What city can still win will be decided by the next three games. First end Wembley and a possibility for Manuel Pelegrini to claim for his first cup in English football. Next to corroborate a come back to Wembley in the semi finals by playing against holders’ Wigan in the quarter final of the FA cup. And finally a trip to Barcelona and an effort to capsize a 2-0 shortfall from first leg. All of which may dim their dreams of lifting the premier league.

Only for the fourth time in the history the City’s are in the final of the contest, they had won two games out of their three visits most in 1976. If Sunderland win the trophy they can reserve their place in Europe who appeared only once in 1985 where they lost to Norwich city by 1-0. The last meeting between these two teams in the league match was in 1980. After a 1-1 draw at Maine Road Sunderland won the Roker Park replay by 1-0. According to John ley, prediction for the match is Sunderland-2 and Manchester city-1

CITY WILL MISS BALOTELLI

The Manchester city striker Mario Balotelli could miss the match against Stoke city as he has undergone a laser-eye surgery in Italy, according to Man City Football News.

The 22-year-old is one of the best strikers in the Premier league, and Manchester city will certainly miss him according to the manager Roberto Mancini. Even though Mario Balotelli has only flashes of brilliance during his two seasons with Manchester city, he has always regarded as an important player by the manager. His absence will leave Manchester city with just Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez as the two main strikers at the club.

Mario Balotelli has been wearing contact lenses up until now. However, in order to enhance his play the striker has undergone a laser-eye surgery according to the manager Roberto Mancini. This would enable Mario Balotelli to play without contact lenses. Manchester city will have a tough few matches in the next few weeks because they will be facing the likes of Real Madrid in the Champions League. Roberto Mancini has said that Mario Balotelli had no other alternative but to go for the surgery because he developed many problems with the contact lenses during the start of the season.

“He had a few problems with contact lenses some years ago. We waited for the defect to stabilise over the last four years and this was the right time to have the operation. His eyes did not tolerate the contact lenses and had problems at the start of the season. I think in around 10 days he should be ready to play again. Already he asked if he could drive and I suggested he should get a lift until Thursday,” said Roberto Mancini ahead of the match with Stoke city during the weekend. Manchester city’s main priority will be to stop conceding goals.

DE JONG CALM ON FUTURE

Manchester City defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong has said that he is extremely calm over his future. The Dutchman is entering into the final year of his contract, but has said that he is not panicking at the moment about his Manchester City future. Nigel de Jong was signed the former manager Mark Hughes and was a crucial member of the Manchester City team before the arrival of Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré. Due to the extraordinary performances of the Ivorian, manager Roberto Mancini has often used Nigel de Jong as a substitute. Even though the Dutchman has admitted that he has been playing less as he would have hoped, he would like to stay with the Premier league champions.

The 27-year-old arrived at the club for around £ 18 million from German club Hamburg only a few seasons ago. He made only 11 starts in the league last season, but managed to win the first Premier league title of his career. It is expected that Manchester City will be challenging for a number of trophies including the Champions League title this season. Nigel de Jong has stated that he wants to be part of the title success at Manchester City.

“My contract runs for another year, so I’m in a pretty good position. I would like to stay. I’ve been at the club for more than three years and I’m enjoying myself. I have won the two biggest trophies in England – the FA Cup and the league title. I’ve seen the club develop from total chaos with the training facilities into a top club, and that’s very satisfying to see. We have a rotation system. Ideally I would play in every game, but the team comes first and we won the title, so it was all worth it,” said Nigel de Jong.
